For the third year in a row ZISPB has been providing decision-making support services under the project “From Care to Opportunities: developing community-based services”.
his service is open to people of working age with intellectual and/or mental disabilities. The service has been ongoing for 12 months, with the possibility of extending it for another 12 months.
One service user and his relatives were very happy that with the help of a decision support specialist, they were able to register with an eye specialist in Kaunas Clinics and get the services they needed.
The service user himself tried for five months to register and failed miserably. He had already given up hope of seeing the specialist he wanted. This is just one small episode from the Decision Support Service, which shows how important it is to have a specialist nearby.
